Mideast Tensions Are Getting Personal on Campus at Columbia: It has led one professor, who denounces the whole matter as a "witch hunt," to abandon one of his signature courses. It has prompted a faculty member in the medical school, not at all directly involved, to send an e-mail message to an implicated professor that he is a "pathetic typical Arab liar" and should leave the country. There have been death threats. Students have been labeled as "ignorant" and "liars" by teachers. Perhaps it is not surprising that one professor caught in the whirlpool came down with shingles.

читая внимательно "Камера обскура" (в сборнике "Приглашение на казнь", Москва, изд. "АСТ", 2004)
- заготовка к "Лолите", те же персонажи, как у ФМ, кочуют из книги в книгу
- под конец с удивлением обнаружил, что читал уже ... оказалось, что читал "Laughter in the Dark", ха-ха-ха, см. Camera Obscura and Laughter in the Dark, or, The Confusion of Texts
- странное смешение языковых рядов. Дважды употреблено "три с полтиной", стр. 25 "утром она попросила 200 марок, они ей дали три с полтиной и вытолкали вон", и на стр. 58: "Отто взял сумку из ее руки, открыл, нашел там только пудреницу, ключи и три марки с полтиной" ... это при том, что для нее кто-то говорил на непонятном языке, по-испански или по-русски ...
- непонятное слово на той же стр. 58 ниже по тексту, "акрошкеры" ... ага, вот и объяснение.
- стр. 55 "и об отце, крутом сангвинике" ... и тут же, в "Приглашении на казнь", стр. 171 - "... картина ли кисти крутого колориста ...".
- "это нервило ее", стр. 69
- "... накануне войны, очень удачно избегнутой ..." стр.83
- "... ему нравилось помогать жизни окарикатуриться ..." - про Горна, стр. 84. Там же "Самые смешные рисунки в журналах именно и основаны на этой тонкой жестокости с одной стороны и глуповатой доверчивости - с другой."
- Горн и Магда - змеиная сущность, ад, искушение ... что бы это значило ...
- "Доктор стал трамбовать ее спину стетоскопом" - стр 92.

всей охлаждающей системой вместе на самолете не поднять, поэтому взрывали
на земле. Очень удивились, что русским удалось бомбу поднять.

Freeman, described Summers' critics as activists whose sensibilities might be at odds with intellectual debate. - this is from a bit more extensive coverage of the event. ... "В ожидании Годо", конечно, повлияло. And this review mentiones it. Что-то новое трудно добавить к тексту. Видеоряд, однако, сделан с большим пониманием. Немного перебор с русским, который ищет сестру. Слегка нарушен баланс. Текст местами напоминает "Death of a Salesman": "It's hard to be human" - и за этим следует "One has to put food on his table ... and to enjoy oneself." Текст очень хороший. И музыка. Кадры тщательно подобраны, напоминают картины ... Ван Гог, в частности: сцена в кафе, когда из окна виден забитый машинами проспект ... Опять же нельзя не вспомнить "Репетиция оркестра". ("Songs from the Second Floor")
опять же, через сутки после просмотра, меняется отношение к Ромеру. Никто не убит, и ничто не убито . Обычные люди, не слишком остроумные (ни одной шутки на весь фильм), однако абсолютно настоящие. Разные, как положено. ("Pauline at the Beach")

Налил, выпил, поставил Гольдберг вариации. И наступило щастье А так же: переписал весь Хорошо Темперированный Клавир и Гольдберг вариации, постирал, сложил, погладил 6 (шесть!) рубашек, пытался слушать русский рэп, но все фигня, что ни пробую. Нужно искать эксперта. Напечатал Отто Вайнингера "Пол и характер" ... Ага, и оладьи с яблоками и с клюквой! свежей, и погулял, и 9-ю симфонию слушал два раза, и попугаям клетку вымыл.

В 1900 году Суворин поставил пьесу Я.Ефрона "Сыны Израиля" (или "Контрабандисты"). Постановка подобной пьесы в Москве была более чем оригинальна. Это всё равно как если бы в одном из крупнейших городов Сицилии поставили спектакль о нравах сицилийской мафии. Эти страницы у Галковского просто феноменальны.

repeats the previous one", and one of the drunks says "This sums it up for me
rather nicely."
- All or Nothing, 2002 - British, very good one, extremely realistic (not naturalistic) ... but after some 40 minutes i was off ... too predictable, even though, again, really good.
