One Sam Vaknin wrote Malignant Self Love - Narcissism Revisited which has suspiciously hihg average Customer Review on Amazon.

But his essay Ethical Relativism and Absolute Taboos is pretty good:

Paternalism, a malignant mutation of benevolence, is about objectifying people and treating them as possessions. Even fully-informed and consenting adults are not granted full, unmitigated autonomy, freedom, and privacy. This tends to breed "victimless crimes". The "culprits" - gamblers, homosexuals, communists, suicides, drug addicts, alcoholics, prostitutes - are "protected from themselves" by an intrusive nanny state.

etc.

His other book, After the rain: How the West lost the East has no reviews on Amazon whatsoever, even editorial, which is strange, especially after you read first few pages, available on amazon.

Judging by what Google returns he seems to be very prolific author, on Russian issyes in particular. He's also present on this interesting site: Johnson's Russia List
