Ezra Pound, that charming, kindly soul, correctly offered this opinion: "Anyone who is too lazy to master the comparatively small glossary necessary to understand Chaucer deserves to be shut out from the reading of good books forever."
- пишет William Ian Miller в замечательной книге Faking It. Учитывая, что William Ian Miller - еврей, стоит сравнить то, что он пишет про Эзру Паунда с тем, что товарищ Шендерович пишет про Астафьева.

Взял "Faking It" в библиотеке, но, пожалуй, стоит купить. Некоторые главы хочется перевести целиком. Тема self-deception, в частности, да и многие вполне неожиданные вещи. Особенно начиная с 10-й главы и далее.

Его очень сложно цитировать, этого парня, William Ian Miller. Нужно целые страницы переписывать. Странно, что он так мало известен. Вот одна цитата:
